Noyadel, 12 of Seprus’s Moon-Quarter, year 790.
I have already crossed many seas and contemplated myriad of horizons, and yet, it is only now that I decide to set my humble knowledge down on the parchment.
But there are still so many wonders to discover and this is probably too early to even begin this work. However, I don’t even know if my fate comes to an end or if it is the coming of a new age. Thus, the rantings of a rambling mage could still be of use for anyone willing to shed at least a bit of light on the mist of this world beset by chaos.
Who can tell how we came so hastily to this sequence of events? Who can explain why ominous clouds are massing in the horizon? Who will be perceptive enough in the darkness of these troubled times?
Be kind enough to believe that the modest compendium of a rambling old man might help those seeking light and truth. Gathered in this book, you will find all the knowledge of a life dedicated to learning and wisdom.
Reader, once again I am thanking you, for you are willing to try and see beyond what is right before your eyes. Scriptor Lucius Horacio IV Per Umbras Visere
